Community Development Block Grants COVID-19

Alert

Description

On March 27th, 2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to directly address the impacts of COVID-19. As part of the CARES Act, Congress appropriated $5 billion to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for allocation to cities and states through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Missouri has been allocated approximately $43M of these CARES Act CDBG funds (CDBG-CV funds).

CDBG-CV funds are designed to help Missouri communities prevent, prepare for, and respond to COVID-19. Eligible activities must clearly tie back to COVID-19 prevention, preparation, or response and can address a variety of unmet needs related to public services, infrastructure, economic assistance, and planning.
