Overview
We are updating Missouri’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) with the support of a Statewide Planning Grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA).
To start the process, DED is conducting an industry cluster assessment and is working with regional counterparts to better understand local strategies.
Goals
- Drive federal funding into local communities
- Improve programs and policies
- Promote bold economic development ideas
Themes
Missouri's CEDS will have four themes: Business Development, Community Infrastructure, Innovation, and Talent.

- DED announces launch of process to update Missouri’s CEDS - July 11, 2024
DED announced on July 11, 2024, that research is underway to develop and implement a statewide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). An updated CEDS will drive federal funding into local communities, improve programs and policies, and promote bold economic development ideas.
