Smokin Brothers, a family-owned and Missouri-based pellet grill manufacturer, announced today that it is expanding in Chaffee, investing $350,000 and creating 5 new jobs. The company’s expansion includes the addition of machinery and in-house metal cutting and fabrication.
“Smokin Brothers is a prime example of a Missouri-made success story that we’re thrilled to see continuing to grow,” said Governor Mike Kehoe. “As the proud owner of a Smokin Brothers grill, I can personally attest to the quality of the products this family-owned business manufactures right here in our state. We’re proud of the success of this Buy Missouri program member and the company’s dedication to family, hard work, and superior craftsmanship.”
Smokin Brothers began in 2005 as a competition BBQ team. Several years and contests later, the team took its passion for BBQ to a new level in 2008, when the company formed and began selling rubs and sauces. In 2011, Smokin Brothers expanded its offerings to include wood pellets and grills out of a need for better flavor, consistency, and quality. Today, the company also produces a line of various grilling accessories. Smokin Brothers’ manufacturing facility is located in Chaffee with its sales office based in Cape Girardeau.
“We are deeply grateful for the support of the Department of Economic Development,” said Ryan Eftink of Smokin Brothers. “Their assistance has been instrumental in realizing our vision for the future of manufacturing in Southeast Missouri. We are committed to creating high-quality products that not only delight our customers but also contribute to the economic vitality of our region.”
Smokin Brothers has been active in the Buy Missouri program, which promotes Missouri-made products, for several years. Last year, the company participated in Buy Missouri Day at the Missouri State Capitol, where it displayed its signature product, the BARN B Que grill. Smokin Brothers has also represented Buy Missouri on Ozarks FOX AM while highlighting the importance of supporting local businesses - and BBQ.
“DED is pleased to support an inspiring, homegrown manufacturer like Smokin Brothers as it continues to thrive in the southeast region,” said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. “This company’s ingenuity and commitment to locally-made, quality products align perfectly with our mission of helping Missourians prosper.”
For this expansion, Smokin Brothers will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.
