Press Room Equipment (PRE), a manufacturer of press feeding and coil handling equipment, announced today that it will expand in Springfield, investing $6.5 million and creating 10 new jobs. The company will move into a new 32,000-square-foot facility designed to enhance capabilities and streamline assembly processes.
“It’s great to see Press Room Equipment expanding, investing, and creating jobs in Springfield,” said Governor Mike Kehoe. “We appreciate the company’s continued partnership and investment in our great state.”
An industry leader with over 40 years of experience, PRE builds press-feeding equipment and coil-handling equipment, including press feed systems, powered and pull-thru straighteners, cut-to-length machines, custom equipment, and more. The company’s talented and diverse team aims to improve the flow of processes, from raw material to finished product.
“The PRE team is so grateful to be a part of The Bradbury Group and the support they have given to our growing company,” said Gary Moore, Press Room Equipment General Manager. “We are leaving a building we have called home since 1991 and moving into a facility that is not only 60% larger but is brand new and designed to fit our workflow in the most efficient manner. We can’t wait to see what the next 40 years hold for PRE.”
PRE was originally located in Rhode Island and moved its operations to Missouri in 1991. The company’s pivotal decision to move was based on Springfield’s central location and business-friendly environment.
“Press Room Equipment’s ongoing growth is an inspiring example of a business benefiting its community,” said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. “The company has been helping Missourians prosper for more than 30 years in the Southwest region and we’re excited to be a part of its success story.”
For this expansion, PRE will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.
What others are saying
“When we met the team at PRE, it was clear that our shared values made them a natural fit for our Group,” said David Cox, CEO of The Bradbury Group. “Our investment in PRE and expansion in Springfield capitalizes on the region’s growing technical labor market in Southwest Missouri. A skilled workforce is essential to our Group of companies, and by partnering with Ozarks Technical College, the City of Springfield, and the team at PRE, we are strengthening our ability to achieve our 2028 strategic priorities: Focus on Our Core, Expand Our Solutions and Live Our Values.”
“This expansion underscores what we know to be true about Springfield—our community is an ideal place for manufacturing companies to invest and grow,” said Matt Morrow, President of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. “Bradbury Group and Press Room Equipment's decision to expand here rather than relocate is an endorsement of our highly skilled workforce, collaborative business climate, and unmatched support for industry growth, made possible by the existence of PIC-West. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them and look forward to their continued success.”
