Coastal Group opens new facility in Foristell, investing more than $41 million and creating 52 new jobs

Coastal Group, a leading provider of warehousing, transportation, and logistics solutions, announced today that it has opened a new facility in Foristell, investing more than $41.8 million and creating 52 new jobs. The company’s expansion consists of opening a new 125,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art cold storage facility.

“Missouri stands out as a prime destination for industry-leading companies like Coastal Group,” said Governor Mike Kehoe. “Our strategic location, ideal business climate, and skilled workforce are driving economic growth that’s making a positive difference for Missourians. We’re proud to see Coastal Group investing in Foristell and look forward to its ongoing success.”

Coastal Group’s new facility, Coastal Cold Storage, will complement the group’s family of logistics companies. The new cold storage facility features advanced temperature-control technology fit to accommodate various storage needs. Coastal Group’s expansion is a significant milestone for the company as it continues to support the U.S. food supply chain. The company’s cold storage was previously located at the Coastal Carriers facility in Troy.

“We chose 10801 Opportunity Drive because the name captures our core belief — that opportunity isn’t just found, it’s created through hard work, vision, and commitment,” said John Dunard, Owner of Coastal Group. “This facility represents more than cold storage. It’s about generating jobs, empowering Missouri’s workforce, and helping businesses nationwide move their products more efficiently.”

Foristell’s strategic centralized location allows for 70% of the U.S. population to be reached in a 10-hour drive. This geological advantage enables faster product turnaround times, reduced freight costs, and broader market access. New jobs added as part of Coastal Group’s expansion will pay an average wage well above the county average.

“Coastal Group’s new facility is a success story made possible by Missouri’s advantages and collaboration with our partners,” said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. “We’re grateful for the trust this company has placed in our state and excited to see it helping Missourians prosper in Foristell.”

For this expansion, Coastal Group will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.
