St. James, Mo.—Today the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the City of St. James, the St. James Industrial Development Authority, and the Rolla Regional Economic Commission announced a major expansion to the company’s corporate campus in St. James, Missouri.
Prock Operations currently employs 64 people in St. James and will be adding another 40 jobs over the next three years. The company recently purchased a new product line, which they will be co-locating with their current operations in St. James. As a result, they are in the planning stages, subject to final plans and approvals, to add a 50,000 sq. ft. expansion to their existing 100,000 sq. ft. manufacturing space to accommodate this growth. Construction is planned to commence in early 2018.
“We knew we wanted to stay in St. James, but had to perform our due diligence and explore all our opportunities,” founder and business owner, Dennis Prock said. “Through the work provided by the Rolla Regional Economic Commission and the St. James Industrial Development Authority, and with the support of the City of St. James, we were happily able to make the business case for staying and growing in St. James.”
Both Prock and company president/CEO, Chris Peters, stated that they feel their employment estimates are very conservative and anticipate a strong growth in the next 5-7 years.
“It would have been very detrimental to the community to have lost Prock Operations," said St. James Mayor Jim White. "Not only the many jobs they provide, but the impact of the empty space it would have left. Instead we are thrilled to have their growth happening in St. James."
Hiring will begin immediately for half of the jobs; applications for the openings can be obtained by visiting their corporate headquarters at 321 E. Hardy St, St James, Missouri.
