The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Danielle Briot will serve as its new Deputy Director for the Division of Strategy and Performance, which informs DED’s strategic planning, program development, and performance management.
“Danielle is an experienced leader and public servant who we’re excited to welcome to DED,” said Kayla Kueckelhan, Director of the Division of Strategy and Performance. “Danielle has already done so much to create value and positive change for Missourians during her career in state government. We’re thrilled to have her as part of our team as we continue our work to promote efficiency and excellence.”
As Deputy Director, Briot will help lead the division that provides subject matter expertise in specialized areas such as economic research, data analysis, policy development, project management, and operational excellence. The Division is focused on using data and performance metrics to ensure DED’s programs and processes are efficient and effective.
In her previous role as Deputy Director for the Office of Equal Opportunity, Briot oversaw the Office's operations. Briot has also served as one of the state’s Operational Excellence Leaders and in various leadership roles with other departments, including Chief of Staff to the Commissioner of Higher Education. Briot has also contributed to state initiatives to support business growth, including Talent for Tomorrow and Best in Midwest.
“I am thrilled to be rejoining Team DED and working alongside colleagues who are passionate about supporting Missouri,” Briot said. “I look forward to contributing to the team and helping the department accomplish our mission to help Missourians prosper.”
Briot is certified in Lean Six Sigma, a process improvement method, in addition to core and domestic mediation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and administration from Columbia College and a master’s degree in legal studies from Purdue University. Briot is also a graduate of the Missouri Leadership Academy.
