Credential Training Program accepting applications until July 31

Missouri One Start, a division of the Department of Economic Development (DED), announced today that the application period for the Credential Training Program is open through July 31. This competitive grant helps employers offset the cost of their employee or prospective employee obtaining a short-term, industry-related credential.

The goal of the Credential Training Program is to provide resources to assist Missouri companies of all sizes and industries with upskilling. As technology continues to advance and industries adjust, the program aims to help Missouri’s workforce maintain the appropriate qualifications. This benefits the growth of the state economy and the expansion of its talent pipeline.

Credential Training Program overview:

  • Employers must apply during an application period (July, October, January or April).
  • Approved applicants will receive a preliminary award letter.
  • The applicant’s employee(s) will then have 12 months from the date of the letter to earn their credential.
  • The employer will be reimbursed once proof has been submitted to the State showing the worker successfully earned the credential.

The Credential Training Program provides reimbursement up to $2,000 per employee for credentials successfully earned. Awards are limited to $30,000 per company per fiscal year (subject to annual appropriation). The State fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.

Applications are accepted throughout the first month of each quarter (July, October, January, and April).
