State awards $1.2M to MO communities

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo- The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) approved five communities for a total of $1,201,134 through the Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) program. These grants will help fund crucial infrastructure projects such as water systems and disaster recovery efforts.

DED approves $500,000 grant for water system improvements in Bland

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Department of Economic Development today announced that the City of Bland has been awarded $500,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to help improve Bland’s water system infrastructure.

The water system infrastructure improvements include upgrading very old water collection, storage and distribution infrastructure.

The project is also supported by a U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development loan and grant.

Department of Economic Development awards $500,000 in CDBG funding to Big Lake

BIG LAKE, Mo.—The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) approved $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to assist the Village of Big Lake repair damage from recent flooding.

Using CDBG funds, Big Lake will clear or replace blocked culverts and dredge up to four channels of the Lake itself to improve drainage, with the sediment being deposited in appropriate locations.
