Missouri Venture Forum

Missouri Venture Forum is a non-profit organization formed in 1985 that serves as a catalyst bringing together the people genuinely interested in helping entrepreneurs. The group’s goal is to provide a way for investors, entrepreneurs and business advisors to form mutually beneficial relationships. Through networking, education and information exchange, the group is focused on new business formation and growth.

IT Entrepreneur Network (ITEN)

The IT Entrepreneur Network (ITEN) is an initiative of the St. Louis IT Coalition and Innovate St. Louis.  Established in 2008, this non-profit is a catalyst of Missouri’s IT ecosystem.  ITEN provides unique programs, events, and access to resources that accelerate tech venture success.

Currently, ITEN serves over 220 start-up ventures and involves over 120 volunteer mentors. ITEN's programs form a venture roadmap from concept through design, prototype, launch, revenue, funding and rapid scaling. Guidance from serial entrepreneurs, subject matter experts and other stakeholders helps entrepreneurs focus on essential critical tasks and avoid wasted efforts. Access to investors, key service providers and qualified talent means fewer barriers to rapid growth. Designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, requiring neither payment nor equity, ITEN is a unique community resource and a proven route to venture success.

Society for Information Management (SIM)

Highly regarded as the premier network for IT leadership, SIM is a community of thought leaders who share experiences and rich intellectual capital, and who explore future IT direction.  Recognizing the unique needs of the industry, SIM collects the intellectual capital of IT leaders nationwide and offers the resources you need to do business better, including:

  • Face-to-Face meetings/networking – SIMposium, Advanced Practices Council (APC) meetings, Regional Leadership Forums (RLF), chapter meetings, and CIO roundtables bring you face-to-face with other key industry executives to share knowledge and network about topics pertinent to IT leaders
  • Online tools – On-demand Webinars and archived Webcasts, an online library featuring nearly 50 whitepapers, working group deliverables, past conference presentations and much more to bring best practices of other IT leaders straight to your desktop.
  • Publications – SIM News, a compilation of association news, articles of interest, interviews, and industry insights and MIS Quarterly Executive (MISQE), a quarterly online publication dedicated to publishing high quality articles, case studies and research reports.

Started in 2008 on Linkedin, Kansas City IT Professionals is a grassroots effort to build and strengthen the local tech community. With over 9000+ members, this is done via events, social media and philanthropic efforts.

Kansas City Data Management Association (KC DAMA)

The Kansas City Chapter of The Data Management Association (DAMA) welcomes all data management professionals in the greater Kansas City area to participate in educational and social functions with fellow professionals.

The goal of the Kansas City Chapter is to provide world class data management practices in the community and improve the awareness in the community of the value of data as a fundamental asset to any organization. To achieve this goal, KC DAMA provides an environment where professionals can receive expert education from internationally-known data management speakers, as well as an open community that promotes sharing and networking among local professionals.
