This program provides assistance to communities to address conditions that pose a serious and immediate threat to the health and welfare of the community. The need must be a serious threat to health or safety, be immediate, and have developed or greatly intensified within the past 18 months. (573) 751-3600

In response to recent severe weather events, Missouri public schools (K-12) and city and county governments (including water and wastewater plants) impacted by these severe weather events are eligible to apply for low-interest emergency loans.  1-855-522-2796

Public Service Commission

Storm Preparation (general awareness for all)

Severe weather can strike quickly, and sometimes, without warning. Keep track of power outages and learn more about how to prepare for severe weather. Customers can inquire about outages by either contacting their utilities’ customer service representatives or the Missouri Public Service Commission’s toll free hotline at 1-800-392-4211. Contact the Missouri Public Service Commission through PSC.MO.GOV if additional assistance is needed.

AmeriCorps Services

AmeriCorps Volunteers 

Do you need help cleaning up debris and muck from your yard? How about supplies for your family? Those in need of service, interested in volunteering or interested in donating to help with the recovery efforts should contact The United Way at 2-1-1 or at 211helps.org.

AmeriCorps volunteers have been deployed to help communities and citizens recover from the flood.

If you are in need of housing assistance as a result of flooding, please contact a funded disaster agency located at the link below. If your county is not listed, please contact the United Day by dialing 2-1-1 or visiting https://helpingpeople.org/united-way-2-1-1/

Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG)

The purpose of the ESG Program is to help individuals and families quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness.

HeRO Program

The Home Repair Opportunity (HeRO) Program provides funding to meet the need for home repair, modification and maintenance for low and moderate income homeowners in the non-metropolitan areas of Missouri. MHDC provides funding to eligible sub-grantees (Community Action Agencies, Regional Planning Commissions, Non-Profit Organizations) from its HOME allocation using a competitive application process which begins with the issuance of a Notice of Funding Availability.

Covid Relief and Other Resources

The State Assistance for Housing Relief Program (SAFHR) is keeping Missourians safe in their homes by providing emergency rent, utility and mortgage assistance. To learn more about SAFHR and other housing resources in Missouri visit the link below.

To provide financial assistance and access to capital to businesses impacted by a natural disaster.  This may include businesses sustaining direct property damage or local businesses sustaining interruptions to their operations and services because of temporary customer loss, temporary interference with access, or other impacts.

The Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers (MO SBTDC) are offering their professional expertise and assistance to streamline the process.
