SALARY $60,000 - $65,000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the management and oversight of the day-to-day operations of 31 Missouri Job Centers and 200+ staff.  Serve as the direct supervisor of Regional Job Center Managers and Facilities/Maintenance staff
  • Responsible for the management of state owned/leased facilities, coordinating with the Office of Administration to address issues and secure acceptable facility locations, as needed
  • Responsible for oversight of Wagner Peyser Program services delivered through the Missouri Job Centers, including compliance with federal and state rules, regulations and policies
  • Monitor State and Federal rules and regulations and Division policy issuances to remain current and knowledgeable of changes and ensure Job Center staff are aware and following regulations and policy
  • Responsible for constant monitoring of Job Center operations, ensuring staff concerns are addressed, customer satisfaction is positive and continuous improvement efforts are developed, implemented and maintained
  • Develop and approve policies and procedures pertaining to the delivery of services provided in Missouri Job Centers. Ensure all Missouri Job Centers are operated within the realms of established policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Workforce Development Board Directors and Job Center partner agencies to coordinate seamless and effective service delivery in Missouri Job Centers
  • Promote cooperation and collaboration between DWD and partner agencies
  • Monitor job center traffic patterns and assess Job Center staffing levels to ensure Job Centers have appropriate capacity to serve customers and are operating efficiently and cost effectively
  • Recommend changes, as needed, to the Solutions and Delivery Senior Manager and General Manager
  • Responsible for oversight and successful implementation of statewide initiatives in Missouri Job Centers
  • Represent the Division on assigned local Workforce Development Boards and other groups/committees
  • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other related work as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Business or Public Administration, Marketing, Finance, Community or Economic Development, Economics, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Social Studies, Social Work, Education, or a closely related field; and,
  • Four or more years of professional experience in community or economic development, marketing, international business, community planning, business management, tourism, public housing, job training and development, employment services, loan or grant administration, tax incentives administration, or a closely related area.
  • (Earned graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university in the specified areas may substitute on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of the required experience at a rate of 24 earned graduate credit hours for one year of experience.)
  • (Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required education.)
