Department of Economic Development opens round of funding for specific disaster recovery activities through CBDG

October 27, 2017

As a result of the recent flooding and the Presidential declaration of over 50 counties in the state, the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) is opening a round of funding to address specific disaster recovery activities through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

Using the procedure established in the Notice of Funding Availability and Request for Proposals document, the Department of Economic Development, Division of Business and Community Services, through the CDBG Program will distribute funding to eligible applicants for eligible activities that significantly impact disaster recovery.

There will be two separate rounds of proposals accepted under this RFP.  The first round will establish a quick turnaround for priority emergency funding proposals, and the second round will focus on mitigation and recovery type projects.  The available funds will be split, so that there are dollars available in the second round.  Proposals not selected from the first round may resubmit to the second round.

For each of the two rounds, the CDBG Program has established a two-step process for the distribution of these funds.  The first step requires the applicant to submit a written proposal containing the information requested in the attached CDBG Disaster Recovery Project Proposal Form.  The second step involves the actual application process.  Projects selected from the proposals will receive an invitation to proceed with a full CDBG application

Proposals must be postmarked by: December 1, 2017 for the first round, and February 2, 2018 for the second round.

Proposals should be mailed to: Missouri CDBG, c/o Marcy Oerly, 301 West High Street, Harry S Truman Office Building, Suite 770, P.O. Box 118, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102.
