The city’s existing water distribution system is comprised of deteriorating cast iron and galvanized piping which is causing water loss. Additionally, the current system does not meet DNR minimum chlorine standards. Using CDBG funds, the city will replace all cast iron and galvanized water lines, renovate two well houses, and replace existing service meters, bringing the water distribution system up to standards.

The CDBG program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public works and economic development projects.
