Department of Economic Development awards $229,500 to help non-profits provide crucial support to area youth

The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) approved two Missouri not-for-profit organizations for a total of $229,500 in state support through the Youth Opportunities Program (YOP).

The Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Missouri, Inc. has been approved for $129,500 to deliver afterschool and summer programs for at-risk youth attending Franklin and Jefferson elementary schools. The Club provides academic support, prevention programming, financial literacy, and health and nutrition programs.

Girls Incorporated of St. Louis has been approved for $100,000 to deliver afterschool programs, summer programs and outreach services for at-risk girls in underserved North St. Louis County.
