Department of Economic Development announces expansion of a St. Joseph pork processor, expected creation of 105 new jobs

ST. JOSEPH – The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Triumph Foods, LLC, a leading pork processing company, will be expanding its facility in St. Joseph. The expansion includes approximately a $7.5 million capital investment and is expected to create 105 new full-time jobs within one year.

Triumph Foods provides a variety of premium pork products to food producers both domestically and internationally. Founded in 2006, Triumph Foods has quickly grown to become one of the top pork processing companies. The St. Joseph-based company currently employs approximately 2,800 people and processes 5.8 million hogs each year in its state-of-the-art plant.

Triumph Food’s expansion marks another big victory for Missouri’s economy in the past month, joining similar announcements by Monsanto (675 new jobs created) in St. Louis County, and Yanfeng USA Automotive Trim Systems (263 new jobs created) in Riverside. Missouri’s business friendly environment, low corporate taxes and innovative resources continue to assist both existing and new Missouri businesses to expand.

To assist Triumph Foods, LLC with its expansion, the Department of Economic Development has authorized a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
