DED approves $500,000 grant for water system improvements in Campbell

March 9, 2017

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Department of Economic Development today announced that the City of Campbell has been awarded $500,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to help improve Campbell’s water system infrastructure.

The City has been losing over 20% of water due to faulty waterlines, hydrants and meters. The water system infrastructure improvements include replacing these areas as well as repairing multiple water tanks.

The project is also supported by a Missouri Department of Natural Resources loan and grant.

The CDBG program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public works and economic development projects.
