DED approves $500,000 grant for water system improvements in Bland

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Department of Economic Development today announced that the City of Bland has been awarded $500,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to help improve Bland’s water system infrastructure.

The water system infrastructure improvements include upgrading very old water collection, storage and distribution infrastructure.

The project is also supported by a U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development loan and grant.

The CDBG program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides grants and loan funds to cities with a population under 50,000 and counties under 200,000 to assist in a variety of public works and economic development projects.
