Missouri Career Readiness Certificate

What is MoCRC? Missouri is joining 45 other states to offer a basic workplace readiness credential, the Missouri Career Readiness Certificate (MoCRC) in partnership with ACT, Inc. as part of a National Career Readiness System to help states increase the foundational skills of its workforce. The MoCRC has been created to assure employers that a job applicant has the necessary employability skills in three core areas - mathematics, reading comprehension and graphic reasoning - that are required for a person to be proficient in today’s workplace. The applicant’s skill levels in these three areas are then profiled against thousands of available jobs to find the perfect match.
The linkage of the MoCRC with Missouri’s Career Centers provides an additional benefit for businesses. By qualifying the skills of pre-hires, employers can be confident that the hiring cycle will be reduced, training will be more effective and employees will be equipped to deal with a constantly changing, skilled work environment. Ensuring that an employee’s skills match those required on the job sends a message that an employer is willing to invest in human capital. Many employers who have made this investment are now documenting higher company morale, lower turnover, increased job satisfaction and an improved work ethic.
