Career Readiness Certificate

The purpose of the Career Readiness Certificate is to increase Missouri's economic competitiveness by connecting Missouri businesses with skilled workers who demonstrate proficiency in basic workplace readiness.

This Work Keys product is a job skills assessment system measuring “real world” skills that employers believe are critical to job success. With this initiative, local workforce boards, economic developers, community colleges and the K-12 education community will have input in creating a standard for preparing a skilled workforce, enabling businesses to reduce turnover, overtime, and waste while increasing morale through effective selection decisions and training processes.

The linkage of the CRC with Missouri's Career Centers will provide an additional benefit for businesses. When an employer seeking to fill a position that has been profiled can give that required skills information to the local Career Center staff when placing a job order. Then, only individuals who have the required skill levels, and meet the other criteria, will be referred to that employer.

For more information on how the CRC will benefit Missouri businesses, see http://www.act.org/workforce/aws/index.html.
