Ozarks Technical College Tour (September 21, 2:00 – 4:00 pm)

Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) is one of the fastest growing community colleges in the state of Missouri. OTC provides a variety of courses focused on professional and personal development, as well as hands-on training and opportunities for growth. During your tour, you will visit the Technical Education, Allied Health, General Education, and Workforce Development facilities.


Expedia/Hotels.com Operations Tour (September 21, 2:00 – 4:00 pm)

Expedia, Inc.’s Hotels.com Operations Center was opened in September of 2010 and is home to three distinct operational functions in its 59,000 square feet of renovated space at the old Springfield-Branson National Airport. In all, roughly 700 employees are contributing daily to the following work groups through a variety of positions:

  • 1. Financial Operations- The Finance team handles multiple functions tied to hotel payment processing, including paper and electronic invoicing and payments, Corporate Accounts Payable, Compliance and Recovery, and Vendor Banking.
  • 2. Global Customer Operations- The Sales team takes a high volume of all inbound calls from customers who are interested in booking hotel reservations through the Hotels.com site. This team also handles hotel bookings for affiliate partners, as well as inbound sales and service for the top 5% of all Hotels.com customers.
  • 3. Global Supply Operations- The Lodging Support Services team resolves traveler and hotel supplier issues related to customer relocations when a hotel has overbooked rooms, as well as hotel billing and reporting issues that are tied to how Expedia and hotel suppliers’ electronic systems interface.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to see first-hand each of the three operations in action and listen to detailed descriptions of their work functions from a department leader. Questions are welcome throughout each part of the tour.
