Len Dawson - Closing Speaker Friday September 12, 2008 at 10:30 am Former pro football star and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson established himself as one of the most accurate passers in pro football. Dawson quarterbacked the Chiefs to three championship seasons, reaching his peak when he was named the Outstanding Player in the 1970 Super Bowl victory over Minnesota. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.
Dawson is presently sports anchor for KMBC-TV in Kansas City and color analyst on KCFX radio regional broadcasts of Kansas City Chiefs’ games. In addition, Dawson spent many years as host of “Inside The NFL” on HBO. Over the years, Dawson has offered his expertise to NBC and numerous Kansas City radio stations as a commentator.
Len Dawson is active in the community and focuses much of his energy on charity work. He has raised money for countless charitable organizations, especially those that help needy children. Since overcoming the life-threatening illness of prostate cancer, Dawson has also become a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.

This presentation will focus on the Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) program and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program specialist (DVOP). Topics will include LVER/DVOP roles, program requirements, how the LVER/DVOP can be successfully integrated into the Career Center operations and into the Title 38 mandated “Priority of Service” to veterans in Department of Labor programs, and Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

Though participants for the Missouri Economic Development Assembly are by invitation, all who care to observe this important assembly are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Missouri Economic Development Assembly as well as the Missouri Economic Development Report publication (and each of the seven district ED Reports) will be produced in collaboration with the Destination Missouri project.
